At the YMCA, there are 28 standard bedrooms with shared shower room and toilet facilities, and five en-suite bedrooms.

  • Furniture - single bed, desk, chair and wardrobe.
  • If your room is not en-suite you’ll have a sink in your room and share a shower room and toilet.
  • Internet is included in your rent.
  • There’s a communal area with a TV (no TV available in rooms).

You’ll share a kitchen with other Anglia Ruskin students. Generally five students share a kitchen. Each kitchen has a dining area, and the YMCA provides a microwave, kettle and toaster, along with a basic set of kitchen utensils such as frying pans, saucepans and cutlery.

The building

YMCA is in a great location about five minutes' walk from campus. The lower floors of the building have non-university tenants. All residents can use the communal lounge and coffee bar. There’s also a gym which you can join.

You’ll find bicycle storage and a launderette here. However, there isn’t any car parking.

Support and services

  • The building is managed by the YMCA Cambridge and Peterborough and is staffed 24 hours a day. You can still get advice from the University’s Tenancy Support Team during our office hours too.
