Short term accommodation

We can offer short-term accommodation in guest flats at our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses.

If guest flats on campus are full, we can offer information on alternatives including youth hostels, bed and breakfasts, hotels and private apartments.

Cambridge

We have a guest flat containing five en-suite rooms and a shared kitchen in Anastasia House, which is directly opposite the main university entrance. It’s also only a ten-minute walk to Cambridge city centre. All our accommodation is non-smoking.

The bedroom

  • The single occupancy rooms feature a small double bed with linen provided
  • En-suite - shower and toilet
  • Furniture - small double bed, desk, chair, wardrobe and mini fridge
  • Internet - Wi-Fi included in rate

The kitchens

The kitchen contains a communal fridge, freezer, microwave and cooker, but not a kettle or toaster. You’ll also need to provide your own cooking equipment including crockery.

Other services

  • Bicycles - sheltered storage is available
  • Cars - no car parking is available
  • Launderette - there is a launderette within the halls
  • Security - CCTV and 24-hour campus security
  • Cleaning in common areas - the stairs and corridors will be cleaned. You will need to clean your room, bathroom and clean up after yourself if you use the shared kitchen.

Costs

  • Student nightly rate of £39.35
  • Student weekly rate of £217.00 (including bedding changed weekly)
  • Non-student nightly rate of £47.25
  • Non-student weekly rate of £260.47 (including bedding changed weekly)
  • A minimum stay of three night applies
  • A maximum stay of six weeks applies
  • Rent payable in advance
  • Kitchen packs (cutlery, plates etc.) available for £20

Chelmsford

Currently unavailable.

There are short stay rooms available on campus at the Student Village, which is less than a ten-minute walk from Chelmsford city centre. All our accommodation is non-smoking.

The bedroom

  • Furniture - bed, desk, chair, wardrobe
  • Internet - included in rate (Wi-Fi)
  • TV - there is an aerial point in each bedroom. You’ll need to purchase a TV license if you watch live or catch-up TV

The kitchen is shared between three to five others and has a communal fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker and kettle. You will need to provide your own cooking equipment including plates and cutlery.
