Peterborough musical extravaganza to be held in aid of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
The Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University will conduct an evening concert at Peterborough Cathedral to raise funds for the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
Professor Michael Thorne will be joined by soloist David Cohen as he conducts Sibelius’ Finlandia and Tchaikovsky’s Rocco Variations for Cello and Orchestra and Sibelius’ Symphony No 2 during the event on Thursday, 5 March at 7.30pm.
Professor Thorne said:
“I am looking forward to conducting an evening concert in the wonderful surroundings of Peterborough Cathedral. With almost a thousand students based at Guild House in Oundle Road, we are proud to be part of the city and want to see as many members of the local community in attendance as possible.
“There will be a retiring collection for the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, where many of our Peterborough-based students go on placements as part of their studies. The hospice provides vital support when people have been diagnosed with a life-changing illness. Its staff provide compassionate care and support for people with palliative, long-term and end-of-life needs and we are proud that our students form part of this care.”
Tickets are priced at £10 and include interval refreshments. Concessions are available for £6. They are available from the box office at 01223 352932, by visiting www.anglia.ac.uk/mumfordtheatre or on the door.
