Casper test

During the 2023/24 admissions cycle, ARU along with four other medical schools, are involved in a pilot, funded by NHS England, to test a new admissions tool called Casper. Casper is an online, open-response situational judgement test (SJT). It asks what you would do in a series of scenarios and more importantly why. All candidates to the MBChB programme will be invited to take the test, however undertaking the test is not mandatory.

The results will not be used as part of the admissions process, and whether or not you take the test (or your score on the test if you do take it) will have no bearing on the outcome of your application.

The results of the test will be used to determine whether Casper provides a good indication of whether a candidate is likely to succeed at medical school.

If you have any questions about the test, please contact the admissions team on [email protected]
