Embarking on the journey of university life is an exciting adventure filled with endless possibilities. In this blog, I want to share my personal story that highlights the endless possibilities of the university clearing process. It's a story of taking a leap of faith, discovering unexpected passions, and ultimately finding my calling in business with marketing. So, get ready to explore the extraordinary journey I embarked on!

Defining my long-term goals

Imagine standing on the edge of university life, filled with anticipation for a course in forensic science. However, during my gap year, working at a warehouse amidst uncertain times, I found myself questioning my career aspirations. Upon reflection, I came to the realisation: my dreams of becoming a forensic scientist didn't align with my long-term goals and true passions.

Determined to explore alternative paths, I turned to the university clearing process – a gateway of opportunity. Through careful research and lots of thinking, I discovered the Business with Marketing course listed on ARU's website. This revelation provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision. It was an exciting revelation that sparked my curiosity and ignited a new-found passion for marketing.

Taking a leap of faith

With my heart set on pursuing a career in marketing, I took a leap of faith and made the decision to alter my deferred offer through the clearing process. It was both nerve-wracking and electrifying, as I veered off the path I had envisioned for myself. Yet, deep down, I knew that this leap of faith aligned perfectly with my new-found aspirations, propelling me towards a fulfilling future.

Navigating the clearing process was a whirlwind of emotions. It involved contacting universities, discussing my revised course choice, and providing necessary documentation. The process demanded resilience and determination, as I had to adapt swiftly to secure a place on the Business with Marketing degree. Through perseverance and the invaluable support of university advisors, I successfully secured a spot that would shape my future.

As I approach the end of my Business with Marketing degree, I am filled with a sense of fulfilment and excitement. The clearing process not only allowed me to discover my true calling but also provided me with the necessary tools and skills to thrive in the dynamic world of marketing.
