Student retention and engagement are key priorities for our university, but what are the practical ways to improve them? Building on the findings of the HEA’s What works? Student retention and success change programme, this workshop will look at the student peer-led learning support schemes that already exist at faculty level (ALSS Buddies) and are being developed at university level (Study Buddies). Together with the students who took part in the ALSS Buddies Scheme, we will consider the opportunities and challenges such schemes may present, as we strive to meet student retention and engagement objectives in the light of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

This event is a Leaders in Learning and Teaching initiative.
