Emma is a qualified solicitor, specialising in intellectual property and commercial law. She has been an educator for over eight years and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2020, following successful completion of the PG Certificate in Learning and Teaching with focus on the higher education sector.
After qualifying as a solicitor, following successful completion of her training contract with Greenwoods Solicitors in Peterborough, Emma spent 12 years advising a range of companies and businesses with complex disputes involving trade marks, design rights, copyright and passing off. Emma acted for a client in a successful appeal to the Court of Appeal on a point of law concerning an account of profits in a trade mark infringement action.
Emma made the move to higher education teaching in March 2015. She taught Business Law and Practice, Practical Skills and Commercial Law and Intellectual Property on the Legal Practice Course at a leading LPC provider until August 2022, when she joined ARU Peterborough.
