Background

Cataria Davis received her doctorate degree (PhD) from Southern Illinois University in the USA where her major area of study was public health education and secondary studies in Geographic Information System with an emphasis in spatial epidemiology. She received a master’s in public health (MPH) from Morgan State University and a master’s in science (MS) if food safety from Johns Hopkins University, both based in Baltimore, MD.  Cataria has held a specialization as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).

Cataria has worked as a public health practitioner and academician for several years. She gained much of her experience working in population health and administration for the U.S. government before moving on to the New York City department of health’s bureau of food safety and community sanitation.  While working in the bureau of food safety, Cataria gained several food safety related certifications and developed her passion for food safety. Cataria maintains her public health practitioner role through providing consultancy for different agencies and corporations and successful grant writing awards.
