Alexander Miller-Fik

Alex is a Nursing & Midwifery Council Registered Nurse, with interests in the areas of clinical assessment, consultation skills and the care of degenerative neurological conditions.

Background

Having previously worked for the local heritage sector, Alex began his healthcare career in the care sector as a Dementia Support Worker and then later became a Nursing Auxiliary at a large regional hospital.

While working in secondary care he undertook his nurse training with the University of East Anglia. Since then, Alex has worked in a diverse number of nursing roles in community nursing, clinical research, general practice and clinical commissioning.

• Dementia education in community care settings

Alex has an interest in how holistic approaches to Dementia care can have an impact on the management of the behavioural aspects of the disease in order to improve the experience of people living with dementia in community settings.

Alex also has an interest in the global development of the modern nursing profession.
