Overview

Gain the skills to work as an assistant groom on a stable yard with this British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 2 award. Study over 12 weeks at Writtle College.

Who should attend?

This course will suit you if you already hold the BHS Stage 1 Care Award, and want to progress from the basic principles of horse care achieved in Stage 1. You must be 16 years of age or above to join the course.

Entry requirements

You must be 16 years of age or above to join this course, and hold the BHS Stage 1 Care Award.

For all sessions, please come dressed for an equine yard. You're required to attend all riding sessions dressed in appropriate outdoor riding wear, an approved riding hat and gloves. We recommend bringing note-taking equipment with you.
