Anglia Ruskin’s Chelmsford campus set to host 140 universities and FE colleges

Anyone interested in starting a Higher Education course from September 2013 and is looking for more information about where to go and what to study is being encouraged to attend the Essex UCAS Convention.

The event will take place on 27-28 June (9.30am-2.30pm) on Anglia Ruskin University’s Chelmsford campus, and approximately 8,000 students from across the region are expected to visit over the two days.

The exhibitors include nearly 140 universities and colleges, including the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, as well as large employers such as the RAF.

In addition to local institutions such as Anglia Ruskin University, the University of Essex and Writtle College, there will be representatives from universities stretching the length and breadth of the UK, ranging from the University of Aberdeen to Plymouth University.

A seminar programme will also run alongside the exhibition, providing talks on subjects such as forensic science, medicine, law and midwifery; as well as student finance and the UCAS application process.

Claire Duke, Outreach & Recruitment Manager at Anglia Ruskin, said:

“This event puts every potential student in touch with the universities on their wish lists, and it is this direct contact that will help individuals to decide which one is right for them.
“A visit to the Essex UCAS Convention will give young people all the information they will need to start the process of entering into Higher Education.  For anyone considering coming along, my advice would be to make sure you do because just one visit could save you a lot of unnecessary groundwork.”

Traditionally the Essex UCAS Convention has been exclusively for school and college groups, but for the first time this year individuals can attend independently and can book their own places by visiting or by phoning Anglia Ruskin on 0845 196 4711.
