Our Chelmsford Alumni Reunion Day took place on Saturday, 10 March 2018 and you can view a small selection of photos taken on the day, below. It was a great opportunity for our alumni and guests to share their memories of studying with us and their predictions for the future. Some of the memories shared were written down on our 'Memory Board' which will be stored in our Time Capsule and re-opened in June 2043. A selection of the comments written on the Memory Board were: "Coming to England was the first challenge that I had to overcome. Luckily, ARU's lecturers, staff and students were friendly and very helpful. It felt like home being surrounded with amazing people here!" and "My uni days were the absolute best! I made an amazing group of friends who I love so much and who made uni worth it." Hopefully you might be able to read some more of the comments in the photo below, along with some of our predictions for what life might be like in 2043, which will also be stored in the Time Capsule. Such as there'll be no more plastic, there'll be more one-to-one teaching but with artificial intelligence rather than a human tutor, and there will be a cure for dementia and cancer. In Chelmsford we were also fortunate to have Alan Pamphilon, assisting us at our Chelmsford 'Memory Wall', on hand to tell you all about historic events. Alan conducts the Chelmsford History Walks, covering topics such as the Marconi factory and memories of the city High Street. Alan is also our March Alumni of the Month feature.
Tony Kirby will be assisting us at our Cambridge reunion. Tony is a former member of staff and is the author of 'Anglia 150', a publication detailing the past 150 years of Anglia Ruskin. Alumni, family and friends are all welcome to join us. All you have to do is confirm your attendance for the campus event you'd like to join.
You can register your place for Cambridge via our Eventbrite page. Our Reunion Day will take place 10.30am - 2.00pm and then at 2.00pm, our Students' Union will be delighted if you can join them for a few drinks at the bar. We'll have staff on hand to take you to their base, on campus at Peter Taylor House.
On Sunday 29 April 2018 we will be holding the Students' Union Anglia Cup. The Anglia Cup is a football tournament which takes place annually. It's made up of teams from both alumni and current students and this year the tournament will be held on Coldhams Common. It's an all-day event and you can contact Dan Fow if you would like more information about this event.
Get in touch if you'd like to participate in any of our plans. We're looking for your memories, photos and stories to help share and form part of our reunion days.
These events are both FREE to attend.
All you have to do is register your place on the Eventbrite website and the quickest way to do so, is to click on the tiles below. You can attend both events if you like, but please remember to book a place for each person that's coming and let us know if anyone is coming under the age of 16.
Shortly we will be publishing a list of all attendees who have confirmed we can provide their name, course and graduation year online in advance.
We have limited parking spaces available at our Chelmsford campus, but no parking available at our Cambridge campus, other than for Blue Badge holders. You are advised to use public transport or use nearby Park & Rides. If you're coming along to our Chelmsford Reunion Day, there's limited space at our Queens, Student Village and Mildmay bays. Travel information for Chelmsford can be found here and travel information for Cambridge can be found here. We will be able to offer Blue Badge holders a parking bay, but you must contact us in order to reserve a bay.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you.
If you'd like to come along you are more than welcome to, you would need to apply for a standard visit visa. You will need to provide a copy of our invitation email in addition to meeting all of the other requirements for this visa category.
Professor Iain Martin, our Vice Chancellor will deliver a welcome talk on arrival and we are happy to confirm that Professor Viren Swami, Dr Cathrine Jansson-Boyd and Dr Sean Lang and will be attending and speaking at these events also. Read our Programme to find out which speakers will be at each campus and more about their lectures. We are also pleased to share that Tony Kirby and Alan Pamphilon will also be delivering guest talks. Tony is a former member of staff and Alan is an alumnus from our Chelmsford campus.
These events will be more geared towards adults, but we do have a photo booth and caricaturist on both dates, so we're sure your children will be entertained. Unfortunately child care is not available on the day. We are also fortunate to have plenty of musical entertainment from our two alumni bands, The Farlanders and the Ros Russell Quintet will be performing for us throughout the day.
Our Alumni Reunion Days will be held on main campus and we'll have student ambassadors on hand to show you where to go.
We will have free food and drink available throughout the day. A buffet lunch will be provided. If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact email@example.com and let us know.
