What is a Nursing Associate?

A Nursing Associate plays a key role in supporting registered nurses in primary, secondary, community and social care. As a Nursing Associate Apprentice with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, you would be employed with one of its hospitals, learning on the job under supervision and attending campus-based lectures and workshops with ARU. At the end of the apprenticeship programme, you would be a fully qualified nursing associate and would be able to register with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. Although the job is a role, there are progression opportunities to Registered Nurse if that is your longer-term ambition.

Who should attend?

You should attend if you are interested in a career in nursing. You could be at any stage of your career: for example, in your last year of A Levels, or already working and want a career change, or a band 2/3 healthcare support worker looking to go into nursing.
