Are you a member of ARU academic or research staff and want to arrange a meeting with a collaborator, attend a conference or host an event? The Research Funding Observatory (RFO) has funding for you.
Travel and Networking bursaries are open to academic and research members of staff who have attended at least two Observatory seminars* and have at least 18 months remaining on their contract.
The funds can be used to attend a networking event or conference, to host a networking event at ARU, or even to invite a prospective Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellow to come visit Anglia! You can use your bursary to pay for:
Don't see what you want in the list above? No worries, it isn't exhaustive, so you can use the funds for other directly incurred expenses. Please note that replacement staff costs, estate rates and indirect costs are not eligible.
The RFO team is trying to help as many of our academic and research staff as possible, so if you have been successful in the previous round, you cannot apply again. Also, we want to make sure that we're helping those in real need, so please check with your Head of Department whether funds are available in your Faculty first before applying for an Observatory bursary.
The fund will open for applications on the 3 October 2016 at 9am. We have up to £1,000 per person available to explore networking opportunities. Have a read through our guidance and be sure to submit your completed application form as soon as you can after 9am on the 3rd, as it is first-come first-served! Any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
