The European Research Council will be holding its annual call for Starting Grants in 2018.

These calls are highly competitive and require applications to be of very high standard. As such, the Unitied Kingdom Research Office is offering information/training events to support potential applicants. These will be held on 19 July 2017 (London) and 26 July 2017 (Edinburgh).

The events will give attendees a thorough understanding of what is required for an ERC application - an introduction to the application system as well as to the key issues in bid preparation. We recommend attending one of the events if you are considering an application to this prestigious call.

Note that to be eligible for the funding 'the PI must be 2-7 years from their PhD on 1 January 2018'.

We currently expect the call for proposals to open on 18 July 2017 and close 17 October 2017. Take advantage of these events to make sure your application is as good as it can be!
