University Open Day is set to be a big draw for local students

Hundreds of young students from across the East of England are expected to descend on Anglia Ruskin University’s Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses on Saturday 7 May to discover more about the world of higher education.

Anglia Ruskin’s Open Day will include a full day of activities and discussions, with the faculties of Arts, Law & Social Sciences; Science & Technology; Education; Health & Social Care and the Ashcroft International Business School all on hand to provide information about the courses on offer.

The Open Day will also offer visitors the opportunity to find out what it is like to study at Anglia Ruskin and the pastoral support which is made available to students.

Staff from the University Support Services and the Students’ Union will be on hand to provide information about the university library, accommodation, careers services, financial issues, clubs and societies, student services and admissions.

Chris Jones, Anglia Ruskin’s Open Day Coordinator, said:

“Our Open Day on 7 May will give visitors a great opportunity to explore and discuss all of the undergraduate courses we offer.

“Academic staff are available throughout the day to give each visitor a detailed insight into the course content, structure and career possibilities. Our current students are also on hand to provide an insight into what it’s really like to be a student here at Anglia Ruskin University.

“I would highly recommend that students currently in Year 12 should come along and see what Anglia Ruskin has to offer, even if they’re still undecided about where or what to study.  With the changes in higher education, it’s more important than ever to explore all of the options sooner rather than later.”

Anglia Ruskin Open Days usually attract between 800-1,000 prospective students to the campus, plus members of their family and friends. There are four Open Days staged throughout the year.

Anyone interested in attending the 7 May Open Day can pre-register online at www.anglia.ac.uk/openday or simply turn up on the day. For further information, please call 0845 271 3333.
