Youngsters can learn how to survive a zombie attack, save a life and solve a murder during an interactive event at their local university.

Children aged from 6 to 16 and their families will be welcomed onto the Anglia Ruskin University campus, in Chelmsford, to meet expert staff, tour state-of-the-art facilities and join in fun-packed workshops.

Over 500 people have already signed up for the free event, which takes place on Saturday, March 1 from 10am until 3pm at Anglia Ruskin’s Bishop Hall Lane campus.  Families can sample the full programme of activities or just drop in for the sessions that take their fancy.

Becca Jackson, Outreach and Recruitment Officer for Anglia Ruskin University, said:

“This is a rare opportunity for young people to use the fantastic facilities available at their local university while enjoying an inspiring day out.
“Whether you love sport, are a budding entrepreneur or want to be the next Sherlock Holmes, you’ll have a chance to delve deeper and get the benefit of our expertise.”

Under-16s should be accompanied by an adult, and due to the hands-on nature of some of the workshops, are advised not to wear their best clothes.
