Cambridge campus

Global Sustainability Institute ident

Sustainability and Health: What are the issues? Stefi Barna, lecturer in Global Public Health at the Norwich Medical School, and co-Director of the Sustainable Healthcare Education Network will introduce us to the connection between sustainability and health, and the key issues to be addressed.

"Good Health and Well-being" is one of the Sustainable Development Goals, a United Nations initiative of 17 global goals and 169 specific targets, which form the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Why is this an issue for sustainability? Life expectancy can be determined by many factors, but reducing death and illness from pollution is an important target, alongside improvements in sanitation and access to clean water worldwide.

Stefi has studied in the USA, France, Netherlands and Togo, and worked as a consultant in Europe, Bangladesh and India, so she has a global perspective and wide understanding of health.

Please join us for this seminar, which will include opportunities for a Q&A.

Free to attend, open to all, a (healthy) lunch will be provided!
