Physics and the Electric Guitar

22 June 2016, 19:00 - 20:30
Chelmsford campus

In this lecture Nick Weaver, Headmaster of Ipswich School, will explore his twin passions of physics and music. You can discover how an electric guitar works, how different sound effects can applied to influence the overall sound, and how artists from the fifties to the present day have used this revolutionary instrument on hit records, filling stadiums and inspiring a whole genre of 'Guitar Hero’ video games.

Event organised by Institute of Physics (IOP) and Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society (CSES).
