What is Clearing?

University student

Think opportunity. Think choice. Think taking control of your future.

Clearing is your opportunity to apply to university, whether you’ve just taken exams this summer or you’re returning to education.

You might be applying through Clearing for a number of reasons. Perhaps you decided to go to university after the UCAS application date had passed. Maybe you didn’t quite get the exam results you expected. Or perhaps you’ve changed your mind about where you want to study – staying closer to home might work best for you.

Most universities, including Anglia Ruskin, will have a range of undergraduate degrees available to students hoping to start a course in September.

Now’s a good time to take a look at our undergraduate courses. Not all these courses will be available in Clearing, but it’s helpful to do some research, check out the entry requirements, and think about what you’d like to study.

Apply from 3 July

Applying through Clearing is quick and easy. This year, we’re accepting online applications from 3 July.

If you’re taking exams this summer, we’ll review your application and contact you on results day.

If you already know your results, we'll review your application and contact you before 16 August.
