The recruitment of qualified and accredited Civil Engineers continues to be a major challenge for employers working across the Engineering and Construction industry. Based on our well-established traditional part-time course the BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship provides a direct route to Incorporated Engineer (IEng) through the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM). It is a tried and tested route to developing qualified staff in these ‘in-demand’ careers whilst making use of your Apprenticeship Levy funds or for smaller businesses to access a 90% government subsidy via ‘Co-investment’.
This course is to be accredited by the JBM*; approval expected end June 2018
The course allows apprentices to work alongside university study, thereby building core skills and competencies to become an Incorporated Engineer.
Apprentices will qualify with an undergraduate degree Civil Engineering with Project Management (Apprenticeship). This course is to be accredited by the JBM* (Joint Board of Moderators). On completion the apprentice will have fully satisfied the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer by the relevant professional engineering institution.
*JBM comprises The Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers and together represent some 100,000 of the world's leading professional engineers.
