Dr Jennifer Martay talks about the successes and achievements of some of her undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students.
Sam was always very engaged in lectures, with marks in the top 10%. His contributions in class showed a deep understanding of the material and a willingness to look beyond 'just the material on the exam'. He was also able to share practical industrial experience with the class. I helped contribute to his group's second year project, and thought their report was of very good quality.
Meanwhile, Bradley also excelled in his modules, with marks in the top 10%. What impressed me about Bradley was his desire to help his fellow students. He was the Student Rep and regularly asked students if they had any comments to pass on. From discussions with Bradley, I was able to improve the lecture delivery and exam materials for future years. Along with Sam, he had an excellent second year project.
Both Sam and Bradley received Ede & Ravenscroft Prize awards last year.
