Managing your money

Manage your money

It's important that you're realistic about how you're going to manage your money while studying. This may be the first time you'll be responsible for buying food or paying bills. If you think you might need some help with budgeting speak to our Student Money Advisers so you don't get into difficulties. They're also there to help out students who may have caring responsibilities, are care-leavers or anyone who just wants to make sure they're getting the right funding and can offer practical advice.

Our Student Money Advice Service give you confidential advice on:

  • funding
  • budgeting and money management
  • additional funding; trusts and charities
  • tax credits; student entitlement to child tax credit and working tax credit
  • welfare benefits; student entitlement to benefits
  • council tax

We offer daily money advice drop in sessions for quick questions, or appointments if you need more time and will be holding some workshops during Welcome Week and beyond.
