Our fencing club have just had their best year yet and have their sights firmly set on BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) success.
The club has over 30 members, men and women, including beginners and experienced fencers. During the 2014/15 season, the men's team competed in the BUCS league for the first time, whilst the women increased their participation. As the club continues to grow, the 2015/16 season will see the women compete in BUCS for the first time and the men aiming to better their league position. The 2017/18 season was one of most successful for the club, with both men’s and women’s teams reaching the semi-finals of the BUCS Cup competition. Our Fencing club is one of the most committed and well organised club at the university, they are always recruiting so don’t hesitate to join them.
We have set up a partnership this year with Huntingdonshire Fencing Club, in order to provide our athletes with additional, high quality training. The partnership aims to improve opportunities for our fencers, but also enrich Huntingdonshire Fencing Club with additional club members. More information about the club can be found here.
