Rupal Lovell-Patel, Principal Lecturer and practising optometrist, visited Linnaeus University in Sweden as part of the Erasmus exchange.

The Erasmus exchange programme supports students who are currently studying at a European institution with activities in education, training, youth and sport across as well as boost skills and employability.

This is the third year that Rupal has been asked to share her expertise on assessing patients experiencing visual stress with final-year optometry students in Sweden. As part of the visit she taught lectures and practical sessions over two days. Feedback from the students was very positive and several students were interested in investigating this subject area as part of their final-year research project.

During her visit, Dr Baskar Theagayaran, Lecturer in Optometry and Professor Peter Gierow, Programme Director for Optometry, also took Rupal for a tour of Kalmar Castle, the location for the university's graduation ceremonies.
