Cambridge is a world-renowned location for psychology; a place that’s buzzing with research and new discoveries. We’re proud of our achievements and our facilities are matched by the high standards of our teaching, student support and research.

Quality teaching and courses

We maintain student-staff ratios at 20:1, in accordance with the requirements for British Psychological Society accreditation. Our courses include undergraduate, postgraduate, full-time and part-time at our Cambridge campus, as well as distance learning.

World-leading research

Our research was rated as world-leading, both in the UK Government’s 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and most recently in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). This places us as one of the top psychology departments in any post-1992 UK university with research specialism in Brain and Cognition as well as Applied Social and Health and Social Psychology.

A dynamic community

Our students are a dynamic and proactive group who lead a Psychology Society in the Students Union. We encourage active involvement of our students in the life of the department.
