Barbara is a senior lecturer and our Department's admissions tutor. She also oversees assessment processes in the Department and has previously been our senior pastoral tutor.
Barbara first studied and taught economics then went on to research links between efficient and effective use of school buildings with philosophy of education, exploring the relationship between architecture and the use of school space. Her current research interest is in education, specifically professional practice undergraduate courses and links with curriculum, assessment feedback and students own professional practice.
Throughout her career, Barbara has combined her teaching and research interests with acting as external examiner and serving on course validation panels.
Barbara teaches on the modules Construction Economics; Practice Based Learning; Work Based Learning B in the Built Environment; Learning and Practical Skills Development (HE and work); Planning for the Undergraduate Dissertation; Undergraduate Dissertation; Economic, Political and Legal Framework.
