About the Department of Computing and Technology

From business technology to computer science, audio music technology to computer gaming, we’re creative and passionate about developing ambition and careers.

We're located on both our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses, and also across East Anglia at our regional partner institutions.


Our courses are both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, in full- and part-time modes, and cover a wide variety of topics.

Our close links with the electronics, software, audio and creative industries mean we stay up to date with what your future employers need and ensure we'll help you develop the skills and knowledge to become an expert in emerging and important technologies.

We have a solid research base, and are engaged in a wide range of academic activities and a number of industrial and public health sector collaborations, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and research consultancy contracts.

Cisco Networking Academy

As a Cisco Academy we offer Cisco-certified courses which give you valuable information and communication technology skills to enhance your CV. We're one of very few locations in the country that offers an industry-standard Cisco qualification to our undergraduate students.
