Collaborative outreach projects

The National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) supports England’s underrepresented young people in areas where their participation in higher education is low – and much lower than expected given their GCSE attainment.

The 29 consortia across England funded by NCOP work towards the Government’s aim of doubling the proportion of students from underrepresented neighbourhoods progressing to higher education and degree level apprenticeships by 2020. This work is currently funded until 31 July 2019. Find out more at Office for Students/NCOP.

Anglia Ruskin University is the proud partner of two of these consortia: Make Happen (Covering Essex) and neaco (Covering Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire).

The Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (neaco) consortium includes all of the higher education providers in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including Anglia Ruskin University. neaco works closely with schools, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Opportunity Areas, local authorities and other stakeholders.

At the centre of neaco’s approach is the Take Your Place framework which focuses on improving students’ understanding and preparedness towards applying for higher education, developing their passion and ambition towards the idea of higher education, as well as making informed choices to enable progression.
