Protecting the vulnerable - a government priority

22 November 2018, 17:30 - 19:00
Chelmsford campus

With Victoria Atkins MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Crime, Vulnerability and Safeguarding

(Date to be confirmed)

This Government has asked searching questions of those responsible for protecting the vulnerable and investigating offenders. Particular initiatives have focused on Child Sexual Exploitation and also Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. Gangs and radicalisation also have a huge impact on the vulnerable. We are hoping that Victoria Atkins MP, responsible in the Home Office for policy on Crime, Safeguarding and Vulnerability will expand on Government priorities in this area and comment on its successes and challenges.

Event preceded by refreshments from 5pm.

Part of the 2018-19 PIER Public Lecture Series 'Policing and Vulnerability', supported by Rivermead Rotary Chelmsford.
