Tim is an experienced paramedic, healthcare manager and lecturer. He leads the Diploma in Paramedic Studies across the Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses.
Having graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a BA (Hons) in Law with History, Tim joined the then East Anglian Ambulance Service as a student Paramedic. Tim was employed with the ambulance service for over fifteen years working clinically in varied roles as a Paramedic, training officer, and HEMS critical care Paramedic.
Tim gained a Diploma in Immediate Medical Care from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. During this time Tim achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Healthcare Practice from University Campus Suffolk, a Certificate of Higher Education in Emergency Medical Care from the University of East Anglia, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Anglia Ruskin University.
Tim went on to hold a number of management positions within the ambulance service, clinically and operationally at junior, middle and senior management levels. During this time he graduated with a Masters in Leadership and Management in Public Services from the University of Hertfordshire.
Tim now works full-time as a Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. Alongside this, he holds roles with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Partner on Fitness to Practice panels and a Visitor assessing universities Paramedic courses for approval. He sits on the College of Paramedics Education Advisory Committee. He has a bank contract as a Paramedic with the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust. He is currently undertaking a PhD part-time exploring why Paramedics move from working for NHS ambulance services to work in roles traditionally undertaken by doctors and nurses.
