Steve McDonald is responsible for ensuring quality and standards in learning and teaching, exploring and delivering new teaching approaches.


Prior to joining the Faculty of Business and Law, Steve worked in industry in a variety of management positions.  Additionally, he has worked as a consultant for SMEs, specifically in the hospitality area and the building area.  He has experience in setting up and developing small businesses. Steve’s been actively involved in the last few years in developing and implementing nee teaching approaches to engage students in their learning.

Currently, Steve’s primary areas of research are exploring and understanding the paradigms that have been created within the workplace for minority groups and how through a better understanding of the paradigms a more inclusive workplace can be created.  He is currently writing up his PhD in the area of diversity ion the workplace.  His other interest are exploring and understanding how the use of video can be incorporated in supporting and developing students’ autonomous learning.
