Sarah is an Associate Professor in Linguistics and Course Leader for ARU's BA (Hons) English Language and Linguistics. She is an applied linguist who is interested in the areas of semantics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis and pedagogy.

Background

Before joining Anglia Ruskin, Sarah taught syntax and grammar at the British Institute in Rome and in Vicenza in Italy. Her first degree was in music and the link between music and language grew.

Sarah continues to be interested in second language acquisition, the influence of motivation and the age factor in the second language acquisition process as well as culture, identity and intercultural issues in higher education.
