Roger is a general medical practitioner and an educationalist with extensive experience of clinical education related to primary care in both the undergraduate and postgraduate fields.

Background

Roger has combined a career as a practising clinician with educational work. In the field of specialty GP training, Roger has experience as a GP Trainer, Programme Director and, more recently, an Associate Postgraduate GP Dean for Health Education England – this latter post involving educational management at a senior level, including national responsibilities. He's also an examiner and examiner trainer for the Royal College of GPs.

Roger has recently moved to the School of Medicine to develop the Primary Care curriculum and work with Essex GP practices to quality-manage student practice placements.
