Nicky is a registered biomedical scientist with a medical microbiology background. Her research interests are antibiotic resistance and student engagement.

Background

Nicky completed her BSc (Hons) Microbiology degree at Reading University, before working at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge, where she trained to become a biomedical scientist. She has maintained her registration with the Health & Care Professional Council after joining Anglia Ruskin University as a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science.

Nicky is a Senior Lecturer and a Course Leader for the Foundation Year on a number of undergraduate courses. Currently, she is completing her Professional Doctorate, where she is analysing how students engage with learning documents used in preparation for team-based learning activities.
