Karolina is a qualified nurse with clinical experience in many areas of Adult Nursing gained during her professional career. She joined ARU in 2017, and is currently a Senior Lecturer teaching the essential knowledge and skills on BSc Nursing (direct entry and apprenticeship).

Background

Karolina previously graduated from the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland, with a Masters degree in Adult Nursing.

In 2008, Karolina started her career on a general medical ward. She moved to the UK in 2012 where she gained professional experience in a number of different nursing settings. She was promoted to a Junior Sister role, where her nursing responsibilities extended to leadership and management, including mentoring the nursing students.

Karolina's passion for teaching led her to look for further career opportunities in higher education, and she became a Clinical Skills Tutor here at ARU in May 2017 and Senior Lecturer from April 2020.

Research interests

Peer teaching/peer learning in nursing students (currently running her own teaching project with third year students who contribute to teach skills for the first years)
