Catherine is Head of our Department for Education. She has more than 20 years' experience as a teacher in secondary and middle schools.



In schools, Catherine's roles include teacher of English, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Assistant Headteacher. Catherine was seconded to local authority positions as a Learning and Teaching Adviser and Safeguarding Lead for Education. She joined Anglia Ruskin in 2011 as a Course Group Leader for Education and became Head of Department for Education in 2015.

Catherine completed a PhD in 2013 at the Institute of Education in London (UCL). The title of her thesis was An Autoethnographic Enquiry into Heteronormativity in a Rural School Community.
