International athletes in Cambridge for training and sports science supportMembers of the Norwegian national judo team have enjoyed a two-day visit to Anglia Ruskin University before attending a GB squad training session in the Midlands.
“We are very grateful to Anglia Ruskin and the judo team for the warm welcome, training sessions and physiological tests performed.
“The results of the tests will be very useful in helping athletes improve their strength and conditioning programmes, and inform their individual approach to weight management.”
“It was very informative to see the training approaches used at Anglia Ruskin, some of which I shall be implementing in the environment where I coach.
“It was also a pleasure to participate in a Q&A session with Anglia Ruskin students on the subject of using and providing feedback.”
“I think it’s great that we now have a reputation that means teams of this stature want to come and visit us.
“It’s good for our athletes to get exposure to international players, and our sports science students also benefited from having an Olympic bronze medallist assist in one of their lectures.”
