Potential students to attend Anglia Ruskin for special introduction day
On Saturday (21 March) Anglia Ruskin University will be holding its second day of fun and learning aimed at Year 9 and 10 students from across Essex with the aim of introducing them and their families to Higher Education.
‘Uni4U-2 - a taste of your local University’ follows on from the success of last year’s informational event which over five hundred people visited. Running from 10am to 3pm on Anglia Ruskin’s Chelmsford campus, the day is especially designed for students aged 13-15 years, and their parents, to get a taste of their local University.
The day will begin with a welcome talk from Anglia Ruskin University’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor David Humber. Visitors will then get the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands on activities from having ‘Fun with Maths’ to a ‘Drama Workshop’, or how about ‘Creating Creative Bugs’ or ‘Have Your Temperature Checked’. They may want to ‘Relax with a Hand Massage’ or have a ‘Graduation Photograph’ taken or attend one of the talks on the ’14-19 Diplomas’ or ‘Getting the most out of Connexions’.
The Students’ Union will be on hand to discuss life at university and there will be the opportunity to meet various Student Clubs and Societies. The Student Support Services team will also demonstrate how to live on a student budget with a ‘Cheap as Chips’ activity.
Anglia Ruskin University has had nine of its subjects rated ‘Excellent’ by The Sunday Times. They are allied health, applied social work, English, music, nursery and midwifery, philosophy, psychology, teacher training, theology and religious studies.
