Family-friendly university is shortlisted for national award by charity
Anglia Ruskin University has been shortlisted for a national award for innovation by a charity that promotes work-life balance for working parents and carers.
The university is one of 24 companies nationwide to reach the final of the Top Employers for Working Families Special Awards – which is run by the Working Families charity to celebrate Britain’s most flexible and family-friendly employers.
Anglia Ruskin has been shortlisted in The Allen & Overy Best for Innovation category alongside Barclays, EY and Grant Thornton. This award recognises companies that have been innovative in their approach to building a flexible, high-performing and family-friendly organisation.
Anglia Ruskin has introduced a Part-Time and Flexible Workers Forum, which has driven change through meetings with managers, participation in events like ‘Go home on time day’ and becoming one of the first higher education institutions to sign up to the Timewise ‘Hire me my way’ campaign.
Denise Thorpe, Director of Human Resources at Anglia Ruskin University, said:
“As an organisation we recognise the importance of having happy, motivated staff who find it easy to strike a good work-life balance.
“Innovation is also at the heart of everything Anglia Ruskin does, and we are proud to be finding new ways to help our staff juggle their commitments at home and at work.”
The results will be announced on 6 July at London’s Vintner’s Hall.
