The assessment and management of patients with acute and acute-on-chronic illness in the primary care setting requires a symptom-based, patient safety-focused approach in order to determine the correct clinical decisions, management plans and referral pathways for patients.
You’ll be taught the importance of performing a clinical assessment that is symptom-based and patient safety-focused, in recognition of the fact that in the minor illness and injuries setting patients present with symptoms not diagnoses and that many of these symptoms are common to both serious and minor illnesses and injuries.
This is our second anaesthesia module following on from Principles and Practices of Anaesthesia. You’ll develop your practical skills and learn about the theory behind anaesthesia and how to be a reflective practitioner. This module is run alongside our BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice, so there are opportunities for multidisciplinary learning and networking. Small class sizes allow for excellent rapport with tutors and fellow students.
