Gerald holds the post of Course Leader BSc Healthcare Science (Physiological Sciences) and Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Science (Physiological Sciences). He is the FMS Learning Lead (Cambridge) and is currently working towards the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD).

He delivers the Cardiac Science modules and leads on the Workplace Learning sections of the three year full time BSc Healthcare Science (Physiological Sciences) programme.



Within Healthcare Science he has worked across both Further and Higher Education for over 25 years. He has held posts such as Head of Division [HE] - Health and Science, Project Manager (Healthcare Scientists) with the NHS South Yorkshire Workforce Confederation, Education and Training Directorate, Key involvement included liaising closely with key partners (e.g. Higher Education Institutions, Acute Trusts, and Professional Groups) and the responsibility for a major project ‘Making the Change Healthcare Scientists in South Yorkshire’. He has held the post of Assistant Network Coordinator, North Trent Network of Cardiac Care as part of the Cardiology Clinical Network undertaking management responsibilities. This involved liaising with Public Health Directors, Clinical Leads, and CHD Collaborative as part of the Cardiac Strategy Local delivery plan. Further experience includes British Coal Occupational Health Service and the National Health Service within Cardiology as a Senior Cardiac Clinical Scientific Officer. He currently holds the post of Secretary for the Association of Clinical Physiology Educators (ACPE) and he continues in practice as a Cardiac Physiologists within the NHS.
