Ying is the Director of Economics Division, OBOR International @ Cambridge (Think Tank). She is currently the Postgraduate Research coordinator at the Department of Accounting, Finance and Operations Management (AFOM).

Background

In July 2018, Ying co-organised the First Cambridge B&R Initiative International Conference at Cambridge. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves as the external examiner and external PhD supervisor in the other UK Higher Education Institutions.

Ying was the course leader for Accounting and Finance subjects at both UG and PG level. She also has substantial experience to lead successful curriculum review and validation for Accounting and Finance subjects.

Prior to joining Anglia Ruskin University, Ying gained substantial teaching experience at University of Northampton, Queen’s University of Belfast and had professional working experience in the UK and China.

Ying’s research interests centre on Economics and Finance, Corporate Finance, Fin-Tech, Entrepreneurial Finance, Banking and Finance, Accounting and Finance, Corporate Governance, Law and Finance. Ying has published her research with world-leading journal publisher and is an active peer reviewer for international journals and conferences. She also regularly acts as chairs and discussants at international and national conferences.

Areas of research supervision

Ying has two PhD completions to date with another two near completions. Currently, she supervises seven PhD students, one DBA student and one MPhil student. Ying has been involved with PhD examination in accounting, finance and business field. She would like to supervise doctoral candidates in her research interest areas using either quantitative or qualitative research method.

Teaching

Ying has a wider range of teaching experience on different postgraduate and undergraduate subjects, including Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Global Financial Strategy, Finance for Decision Making, Corporate Risk Management, Investment Analysis, Derivatives Market, International Money and Finance, and Research Methods in Finance. She is always passionate about her subject areas with a specialised interest to develop student subject skills and transferable skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication and creative problem solving using quantitative methods.
