Anglia Language Programme

Learn a new language or continue with an existing one. Our Language Centre offers a range of modern foreign language modules to ARU students and staff.

It's easy to apply and you can study on campus in Cambridge or Chelmsford.

Timetables

There are two study options.

  1. As a credit bearing module: If you are at undergraduate level and your course allows you to substitute one of your modules for a language then you may take a language module. You will be tested at the end of your course and will receive credits. Please note that in order to pass this module there is a 60% attendance requirement.
  2. As an extra stand-alone module: Any student or staff member who wishes to learn a new language or improve on an existing one can take the course. There will be no assessment at the end but if you attend 80% of the classes then you will receive a certificate of attendance stating the level of the class. There will be a discounted fee of £110 per semester for a ten-week course – each week comprises two hours tuition – 20 hours overall.

Why learn a language?

  • Boosts employability.
  • Improves communication skills.
  • Builds confidence.
  • Helps intercultural awareness.
  • Improves brain functionality.
  • Provides a better understanding of your own language.
  • It’s fun!

Please note that if we cannot run a module because of limited demand, we'll do our best to place you on another one. If there is sufficient demand for a level not offered (advanced) then we will also endeavour to open a new class.
