Participatory Research

Run by the Participatory Research Group (PRG) and chaired by Professor Carol Munn-Giddings, our Participatory Inquiry Forum (PIF) is open to staff and students who have an interest in or are actively involved in undertaking, promoting and/or supporting participatory approaches to research.

From action research to co-operative enquiry, our group aims to:

  1. Bring together staff and research students from across the Faculty/University who are actively involved in undertaking, supporting and promoting participatory research in the fields of health and social care
  2. Consolidate and build Anglia Ruskin University’s reputation and profile as a leader in the application of participatory approaches in research, service and community development.

This academic year (2014-2015) the forums have been organised around the theme of marginalised voices in a variety of contexts and settings. From staff to PhD students, we incorporate speakers who have focused on methodology, methods of engagement and reflections on the ethical and political issues raised.

This year’s seminar series will end with a networking event to explore collaborative working and writing opportunities.
