Karolina is a qualified nurse with clinical experience in many areas of adult Nursing, gained during her professional career. She was promoted to a leadership nursing role (Band 6) and has been mentoring students on their placements.
Currently, Karolina is completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Education and a HEA Fellowship. She's previously completed nursing studies at University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland, with a Masters degree in Adult Nursing.
In 2008, Karolina started her career on a general medical ward. She moved to the UK in 2012 where she gained professional experience in a number of different nursing settings including a care home, acute care (Emergency Department) and a medical ward (gastroenterology). She was promoted to a Junior Sister role where her nursing responsibilities extended to leadership and management.
More recently, Karolina has been mentoring nursing students. She's passionate about supervising and contributing to their learning, and this was recognised by students when they nominated her for 'Mentor of The Year 2016' (Cambridge University Hospitals – Addenbrooke's Hospital).
Karolina's passion for teaching led her to look for further career opportunities in higher education, and she became a Clinical Skills Tutor here at ARU in May 2017.
Clinical Skills Tutor in Adult Nursing (pre- and post- registration degree and also supporting Child and Mental Health Nursing.
