Tara has worked in education for eighteen years and continues teach in local schools as well as on the PGCE Primary course.
Tara started her career as a teacher in a large primary school in Cambridgeshire where she had cross-phase teaching experiences from Nursery to Year 6. She quickly moved in to a Senior Manager role where she led in in CPD, English, well-being and school improvement. Tara has planned and led training for senior managers, teachers, support staff and governors on raising standards, new initiatives and teaching children to write creatively. In 2009 Tara gained her National Professional Qualification for Headship. Tara is currently a Senior Lecturer, personal tutor and visiting Tutor on the PGCE Primary course and also continues to work in local schools.
Tara’s research interests link closely to her work in primary schools and on the PGCE course. She has had vast experience of teaching these areas in primary schools and University.
Tara teaches the PGCE Primary teaching elements including current themes in education and core and foundation subjects. These areas closely link theory to practice as well as offering practical elements to enhance primary teaching and learning.
