Department:School of Nursing and Midwifery
Annette has a professional background in Cancer nursing and palliative care. Her current role builds upon her commitment to the provision of high-quality education for healthcare professionals.
An important aspect of Annette’s work relates to contributing to the body of knowledge within her sphere of practice. She’s fulfilled this role by a commitment to life-long learning and the publication of a number of peer reviewed articles and very recently a book chapter. Since working within Higher education she’s completed a Masters degree in Nurse Education at the Southbank University and an Educational Doctorate in Education Leadership and Management at Leicester University. Annette believes that these exceptional educational experiences have given her role specific skills, but more importantly developed her confidence and ability to think critically, be reflexive and exercise evidence informed, ethical leadership. The combination of these opportunities and her recent experience as Acting Head of Department has given her the ability to make informed judgements on complex issues, to meet deadlines and think innovatively and creatively.
