The course

By choosing to study with us, you’ll explore one of the most complex and demanding areas of nursing.

You’ll work with people experiencing a variety of mental health issues, so it’s necessary for you to be committed to values-based practice and working towards recovery and achieving their goals and aspirations.

Our course is equally balanced between theory and practice, with you not only being educated within a university setting but also while on placement. From inpatient areas to specialist community based teams, you’ll discover mental health issues across the lifespan from children and adolescents to adults and older people.

The course

From a sick newborn to an adolescent road accident victim, you’ll encounter various situations around the nursing care of children throughout your time on our course.  You’ll face challenges like any children’s nurse but we’ll support you to enhance your understanding within family care to tackle them.

Alongside this, 50% of our course is delivered on placements. You’ll get the opportunity to practice in areas such as hospitals, day care centres, child health clinics and in the child's home.
