Biography

Dr William Stacy is a distinguished American educationalist and lately Headmaster of Baylor School, Tennessee. In 1989 he became the first President of California State University (CSU) in San Marcos, USA. He remained as CSU for 8 years, during which time he fostered a relationship with our University that grew to include Faculty exchange, joint courses, research and curriculum development. In 1997 he was appointed Chancellor of the Chattanooga Campus of the University of Tennessee. Under his leadership the Campus achieved more than $26million worth of enhancements, including the introduction of new doctoral programmes. Dr Stacy left the University in 2004 to take over as Head at Baylor School. Throughout his career he has been committed to the principle of inclusion within education and to the integration of Higher Education with the regional community.

In 1992 Dr William Stacy was made an Honorary Fellow of our University.
